About Me (In My Own Words)
I never knew I had a BAV, until I got endocarditis in 2007 from a random skin infection on my foot. From there I was sick for 2 weeks before they could figure out what was really going on. I had to have immediate open heart surgery to remove the infection from my aortic valve. Now have a St. Jude Mechanical heart valve and I am on 5mg Coumadin daily :-)
