About Me (In My Own Words)
Hi, I am sixteen years old, and had a TOF repair when I was eight months old. Now my pulmonary valve needs replacement, and the surgery is scheduled for June 2011. My surgeon has recommended a pig's valve as he says it will grow with me. Has anyone had any experience with pig's valve. How does it compare with a human/cow's valve? Also, I keep hearing that they usually put a mechanical valve in younger patients like me due to longevity. I'd really appreciate if anyone could share their experience as my mom and I want to make the right choice.
