About Me (In My Own Words)
In 2016, I was diagnosed with a Bicuspid Aortic Valve. After monitoring it yearly for 7 years, the time had come to have the valve replaced.
After being presented with the choice of a Animal Tissue or Artificial Valve, I consulted with another doctor who explained to me the Ross Procedure. Despite the procedure being more complex than the normal AVR Surgery, I decided it was the best choice because of lower chances of needing a reintervention or having to be on blood thinners the rest of my life.
In March 2024, I had the surgery and it was successful. I went through a 2 month recovery process and I am now back to my normal self after 6 months.
