In August 2010 i went to the "Wagga Base Hospital" with chest pains to the middle of my chest. i was there most of the day and underwent a chest x ray and CT scan. I was diagnosed with a "Hiatus Hernia". i was discharged 8 hrs later and given a letter to give to my local GP. The CT scan showed that i had a grossly enlarged heart,so my doctor ordered up blood tests and referred me to a "Cardiologist" who gave me an ECHO and a stress test. The conclusion was i had a leaking mitral valve since birth, which over time had prolapsed and now was regurgitating. I have had an angiogram and a TEE and the diagnosis is a moderately severe regurgitation. So i am being scheduled for surgery 14 Feb, 2011. The operation was supposed to be done before xmas, but due to a lot of reasons i opted for after the christmas season.
