About Me (In My Own Words)
For years I kept going to the hospital for chest pains and I kept getting told it was my anxiety. Then finally they did a echocardiogram and seen I had mitral valve regurgitation so they did a TEE and told me that the valve was leaking bad. Fast forward to surgery day the doctor was suppose to replace the valve. When I came out of the surgery he told me he repaired it instead. So 6 months later starting to get back to myself and I went to work for the first day well I didnt understand why I was still feeling tired, weak and heart palpation so I call my doctor and seen him. He decided to get another echocardiogram but he said dont worry there's no way that the valve is leaking. Well 3 days later I called the doctor and talked to my nurse she said everything was fine, but at 5 in the evening Dr Bailey called me and he told me how much he hates to admit it he was wrong the valve was leaking again so at this time I'm done with this doctor because originally he was supposed to put the mechanical valve in but he didnt. So I go with my regular heart doctor and he sent me for another TEE and this time was worse then last time. 6 months later I had to get heart surgery again because I went into heart failure. This time around was so hard on my body they finally put the mechanical valve in cause it was beyond repair they said there was so much calcium built up on it. Because it was my second surgery within a year my inr was a 8 my blood was low they wanted to give me a blood transfusion but I refused. Now in 2018 2 years later I feel like I'm still recovering. Now because of my INR going from one extreme to the other they want to change my valves I couldnt imagine another open heart surgery.
