About Me (In My Own Words)
Was diagnosed with rhumatic heart disease in 2015 (I must have had rhumatic fever as a child that went unnoticed). Had a follow-up in december of 2017. My condition went from mild to moderatly severe in those 2 years. Met a cardiologist in January 2018, had several tests done and was finally sent to meet a cardiac surgeon (24/09/2018: will always remember that date!).
Will have a minimally-invasive mitral valve replacement (mechanical valve) on December 2018 or January 2019.
