About Me (In My Own Words)
I had a bicuspid stenotic aortic valve that was 80% obscured.
I was getting ready to get on a cruise ship for a vacation to Alaska when I noticed some changing sensations in my chest. My cardiologist, Yerem Yeghiazarins, at UCSF, recommended Dr. Luis Castro at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, to replace my heart valve. I took his advice and met with Dr. Castro for the first time. He is gentle,
and professional. We found out that Dr. Castro has replaced thousands of the aortic vales. I was confident in him and his team. I underwent surgery three days later. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Castro and the Sequoia Hospital. My surgery went well and I am healing rapidly.
