About Me (In My Own Words)
I am 77 years old, and except for one item I am in good health. I have severe aortic stenosis (<.7 sq cm a year ago) and a biscuspid valve. So far I am asymptomatic unless I deliberately provoke one. Dr. Sarin, who will perform either TAVR or SAVR on me, has convinced me that SAVR is the superior solution. My first focus was on TAVR because it is so much simpler and recovery is much easier. The "here's what to expect" material I have encountered about SAVR reads like it was written by a hospital lawyer. I would like to talk to someone who has been there and come back.
