About Me (In My Own Words)
I am actually the wife of whose husband went through the following. This was his 3rd heart surgery, second open heart and it was by far the worst. There was already so much scar tissue and damage done and we almost lost him due to the MD's not being able to diagnose the aortic aneurysm. They said maybe a month more. Mind you, he is only 35 years old. We have two little kids. He is struggling overall with full recovery. He was put on a few more medications after the surgery, which I firmly believe are affecting his health. He has been a state of depression since surgery. It took us almost a year of him going downhill before they finally operated. I am unsure of how to go about helping him. At our age, there is no support system. If you are in your 80's, there are a ton of programs. ANY help or advice on where to search for help would be amazing. Feel like we cannot claw our way out of this. He has an appt with a team at the University of WA tomorrow, so fingers crossed, something will come of it.
