About Me (In My Own Words)
I had a leaky Mitral valve up until last month when at my cardiologists after a years absence he told me that it was torn and I was in constant regurgitation. Now Im on the clock to get surgery in the next 30 days or sooner. My only symptom is occasional shortness of breath. I am a hiker and have not had any major problems. I just went on a 9 mile hike two weeks ago two weeks ago. I go for a transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) next week and then need to decide on a surgeon depending on whether they can repair or have to replace the valve. So, I need to make some decisions soon. I have a friend in Minneapolis and may go to Mayo for the surgery.
