About Me (In My Own Words)
For over a year I presented to my doctor that I was very tired. My EKG were ok for someone my age. I was told that I was depressed, needed to have bariatric surgery, and should retire. My guess is that my doctor got tired of hearing how tired I was. This May I wasn't feeling well at work. I didn't know what was wrong I just felt dizzy. I left work and went to the hospital nearest my home (hubby drove me). The ER nurses were great, but I was told that I did not have a heart attack. The son I was feeling is muscular skeletal. Also the blood test they gave me did not show a enzyme seen on heart attacks. My doctor called me to see her so she can give me a check up. I left work early to see her. I hardly could walk out of the parking lot. I was short of breath, and found that I couldn't speak without stopping to take a breath. I almost fainted in the nurses arms when I got to the office. To make this story shorter, I was rushed to the hospital, had a TEE and a cath. First I was told that they are pretty sure nothing will be found because I'm too young and had very little cholesterol....though looking at my EKG I had some stenosis. Well the cath blew their minds. It showed that I had severe stenosis and a left ventricular hyperthrophy. I wasn't surprised! I knew something was wrong. The TEE proved that I was pretty sick. They were surprised I was still living. I had breast cancer 12 years ago and had a lot of radiation. I wonder if that aided to my severe stenosis! I had surgery at the end of June. I was in the hospital 11 days. That's the beginning of my story. I thank God for my husband, children and relatives. After 8 weeks I'm back at work and go to cardiac rehab 3 times a week. So there it is.
