About Me (In My Own Words)
Diagnosed with aortic stenosis two years ago. Last echo showed 0.9 valve opening which was upgraded to 1.1 on cardiac catheterization. 80% blockage also found in one artery. I am awaiting final credentials for my surgeon at hospital I have selected. He has recently relocated to my area and has an outstanding background in valve replacement surgery. He is worth waiting for. In the meantime, I am taking Plavix along with my other heart medicines and TRYING to adapt to a vegan diet so that my new valve will have optimum length of reliability. I also use a CPAP machine to prevent worsening pulmonary hypertension. I have no chest pain but do have episodes of shortness of breath. I am retired and 71 years of age.
