About Me (In My Own Words)
Was asytematic when a routine check-up with my GP discovered a murmur (aged 37) - I was diagnosed with a biscpid aortic valve that was leaking and told I would need to have it replaced in maybe 5-10 years. After a bit of soul searching & research I pushed for the operation sooner rather than later and had my surgery in 2008 and an on-x valve was fitted. I am now 5 years post-op and leading a full life again and have proved I am ok again by running 3 marathons post-op to date.
