About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed with a mitral valve prolapse when I was 27 years old. Over the years, I was followed by a cardiologist and had regular echocardiograms with and without stress tests. The MVP progressed from mild to severe. When it effected the quality of my life, I contacted a wonderful cardiac surgeon at Rhode Island Hospital. Dr. Fingleton replaced my mitral valve, repaired my tricuspid, did a PFO closure, and a few other things. I am on the road to recovery!
