About Me (In My Own Words)
Ever since birth, doctors noticed a heart murmur that they just dismissed and told my parents would go away with time. It was not until age 17, when a DO was checking me out for a "sick day" from high-school, that my bicuspid aortic valve was discovered. He inquired about the murmur from my mother, and she told him that every physician up until that point had just brushed it off. He recommended that we have a echocardiogram done, as the murmur was quite loud and worried him. Thus, I was diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic valve and mild aortic stenosis. It has now progressed into the severe stage, and surgery is coming faster and faster on December 12, 2018. I cannot say that I have really experienced many symptoms, praise God, however I do have many palpitations (not sure how many are stress related). I am currently finishing up my Doctorate of Pharmacy degree at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, and as of July 14, 2018, I am a joyfully married man.
