About Me (In My Own Words)
I was born with Aortic Stenosis from a genetic disorder. I was able to wait to have my valves replaced until I was 20 years old by having several angioplasties along the way. I opted for the Ross Procedure since I was young and hoped to one day be able to have children. I have done amazingly well for the last 15 years even thru 2 pregnancies. I just recently found out it is time for another replacement with in the next 6 months, this time looking like a mechanical valve. A whole new set of worries this time about my children (7 and 5) and knowing the hard recovery ahead.
