About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse in 1989 and have been diligent with yearly visits to the cardiologist. I have been very active and mostly asymptomatic. I was very surprised when the echocardiogram performed in October revealed severe mitral valve regurgitation. I am awaiting a CAT scan to determine if I am a candidate for less invasive mitral valve replacement. I am studying up trying to decide which valve is right for me. I worry about being on coumadin the rest of my life. Any input is appreciated!
