About Me (In My Own Words)
In 2011 when I was 44 ,while working as a Loss Prevention manager for Kmart ,I had a shoplifter try to fight me when I detained them. The next morning I could feel my heart fluttering so I called my doctor, Shann Davis PA-C. He ran a EKG and diagnosed me with PVC's. He wanted follow up and set me up with Dr John Critikos through Hendersonville Cardiology in NC.
Dr C set me up for an echocardiogram and cardiac stress test. I passed the cardiac stress test very well. When the echocardiogram was performed, it found I had moderate aortic regurgitation along with a congenital bicuspid aortic valve. I have yet to have a valve replacement. We monitor it yearly with a echocardiogram and nothing has changed. However I was told when I have the surgery it will not be the less invasive replacement through the artery in my leg but the whole crack me open like an egg open heart surgery. That's worrisome but I have had both hip and shoulder joints replaced so it can't be that bad. Just way more risky.
