About Me (In My Own Words)
I was born with a"heart murmer."
It was later diagnosed a "mitral valve prolapse." I've lived with that knowledge till I was 48, when I had an echocardiogram that showed a bicuspid aortic valve with mild stenosis. Fast forward to 57 years old with fainting episodes. Echocardiogram shows severe aortic stenosis with left ventricular tachycardia.
I chose a bovine valve to avoid anti coagulants and to not hear the ticking of a mechanical valve, and had surgery on 2/1/22.
Echocardiogram now shows no aortic regurgitation. My new valve is seated well and working great.
But, I still have a mitral valve prolapse with regurgitation, and now also have leaking in my tricuspid valve and my pulmonary valve. Nonetheless, I feel pretty good most days. I do tire very easily. But I am soooo thankful for the time that my valve replacement has gifted me.
So, I will keep pushing on๐
