About Me (In My Own Words)
I had surgery to repair my mitral valve on 5/17/2019 by the robotic procedure. . I was not having any real symptoms so we had been watching it. On a routine follow up we found that found that the mitral regurgitation was severe and several of the chordanae (sp) had ruptured. I also had some mild symptoms. Time for surgery!
One month later, and the heart is healing as expected. I work remotely and plan on returning to work next week. I also start cardiac rehab next week. I have good and bad days. I get frustrated with the progress. On the good days " I think" I got this", On the bad days it think "OMG what have I done?". I keep forgetting that it has only been one month and that my body needs to heal. Sorry for the long post but if anyone has any advice on how to manage the "mental" recovery that would be great
