Lots of details not shared before surgery, with conflicting information. Ended up getting four more consults before I decided who and where to have surgery. I have NO other heart problems-no BP issues, no calcium buildup, Was still working a physically demanding job. Im seven weeks out and I feel like the pleural effusion is back-I can hear wheezing when I exhale and feel something in lower left lung. I was on diuretics for 30 days post op. I also can hear my heart pounding at nigh and it makes it hard to go to sleep and I wake up frequently. I have night sweats where I can go through four shirts in a night. I think this might be from Metoprolol that they put me on after surgery as my heart was beating fast and my BP was up. Again, I’ve never had BP issues and my heart rate usually is 118/66. No, I repeat, NO heart issues except I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve and they waited too long to replace it (thus the almost aortic aneurysm they had to fix). Are any of the residual symptoms common?
