About Me (In My Own Words)
I'm a 56 yr. old female that was told that i had a heart murmur about 20 yrs ago. Since then I've been making twice a year visits to my cardiologist and thought that would be my routine for life. I never was told that one day I might have to have my aortic valve replaced but Oct 2009 that is exactly what took place.I recovered very quickly but was very weak and thought this was from having major surgery but in Dec 2009 I had to have a blood transfusion. I had to have more blood in January,Febuary and now March . My surgeon thiks it might be the mechanical valves distroying my red bloods cells.I can't seem to find any info on this if anyone has had or heard of it I would appreciate any info.
