About Me (In My Own Words)
My PCP noticed a heart murmur during a routine checkup on 2/1/24. I had my first echocardiogram the following week 2/7/24. My first appt with a cardiologist was on 2/23/24. I was expecting to just get established as a patient and to be told it’s not serious, but something to keep an eye on for now. Instead, I was told flat out, “You’re going to need open-heart surgery within the next couple of years.” To say I was shocked would be an understatement. Since then, I’ve had a second echocardiogram and another cardiologist for a second opinion.
