About Me (In My Own Words)
I have moderate AS with bicuspid valve heart murmur and paroxysmal afib. Even though I am barely in the moderate category I experience symptoms: shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, afib, tachy/brady syndrome, dizziness and fainting. I am due to have ablation procedure for the afib in the next month, but due to my symptoms I am pushing for Valve Replacement, repair of murmur and bicuspid valve. One of my Cardiologists (ElectroCardiologist) says I need to keep my natural valve as long as possible so he does not reccommend that surgery at this time. Why not? The valve is damaged, I have many symptoms, and it's only going to progress! I would like to hear from anyone who has had the heart valve surgery in the mild to moderate category and learn about their outcomes.
