Hello. Currently, I am 39 years old. I was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse when I was 12. Aortic insufficiency came about in my early 20's. I am looking at having mitral and aortic valve replacements done in early June 2011. I found a spectacular surgeon at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta and also changed cardiologists. I'm currently on 80 mg of lasix a day. I experience swelling in my hands and feet and sometimes I can feel it in my face. I do experience some palpitations. I have a horrible cough too, especially when I lay down. Other than that, I'm ok. HA! I read Adam Pick's book and found it very informative! Can anyone tell me how long after surgery, can you drive? This will be an interesting journey. Thank you, Christy
