About Me (In My Own Words)
I was found to have a bicuspid aortic valve while trying to get pregnant in 2007. Since then we have just been monitoring it. Recent TEE revealed that the valve was severely leaky and I was starting to feel more SOB with exercise. I was told last month that it’s time for surgery. Today I got some good news. Although I had hoped to be able to put the surgery off for a little longer, I will be able to have the minimally invasive aortic valve replacement (MIAVR) with a right anterior minithoracotomy. As of now the surgery is scheduled for 8/27. I was hoping to see if anyone in the community had this procedure and hear how you did. Thanks!
