About Me (In My Own Words)
I am nearly 74, very active in the outdoors and am not inhibited in any way physically, however, an angiogram in April, 09 tells a different story and after consulting two cardiologists i feel surgery is the best choice. One cardiologist was Carter Newton, M.D. Assistant professor of cardiology and radiology at the U of Arizona whom i would like to publcly thank for spending so much time giving his expert opinion both on the phone and by email.
I have good family support meaning that whatever decision i make they are behind it.
Inaddition to the valve problem there are also 3 blockages @ 90% so, obviously, these will be looked after at the same time the valve is replaced. A porcine valve will be used.
