About Me (In My Own Words)
I was a kid when I was diagnosed with aortic stenosis. Dr. Starnes performed the ROSS procedure in 2008 for me when I was a freshmen in highschool. This procedure allowed me to compete in water polo and swimming. I went on to compete in college water polo and swim team.
Fast forward 16 years and now in 2024, I had another heart surgery with Dr. Starnes. This time I only needed the pulmonary valve replaced. Surgery went really well and only 2 weeks after the surgery, I already feel like I can go back and compete in college athletics again.
I am now a father of 2 twin girls. I am a California State Park Peace Officer Ranger with a K9 partner. I am able to live my best life, largely in part to Dr. Starnes and his amazing team.
