About Me (In My Own Words)
A murmur in my heart was identified by my physicians even as a child, but it had taken a delay in an airport years later to know that I had needed an immediate treatment. I'd always known and had kept track of the progress of my aortic stenosis for years. However, I stopped consulting a cardiologist for a few years during and after the pandemic. I was travelling back home after visiting a relative and was delayed at the airport. While rushing towards the gate, trying to do a fast paced walk and run, I felt palpitations, shortness of breath and almost blacked out close to the gate. I consulted my physician the very next day, who referred me to a cardiologist, who referred me to a surgeon. I had my valve replacement surgery on August 7th and now recovering well
