About Me (In My Own Words)
After surving Hodgkin's Disease in my early twenties, my doctor sent me for an echocardiogram a few years after my remission to check out a "murmer". Turns out I was born with a bi-cuspid aorta and have been followed by a cardiologist every since. In 2007, we moved to Israel and I continued with regular visits to a cardiologist and echocardiograms. I knew my valve was getting worse because I was getting a heaviness in chest and shortness of breath with less and less exertion, and my last echo in December, 2015 bore that out. After consulting with a couple of surgeons, the surgery has been scheduled for March 6, with pre-op for the second of March. I'm really scared....
