I got my second opinion from Dr. Craig Smith at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, NYC. I liked his easy going approach and his reassurance that I wouldn't return home until I got the best care and would be able to function independently. I won't have 24 hour care at home so I'm planning to go to post acute care after the hospitalization for the aortic valve replacement. After that, then I'll have care at home with my two sons and my sister when they are available.
