About Me (In My Own Words)
12-16-2013. My name is Abel. I am a 52 year old male who was informed 8 years ago (2005) I needed to have my Aortic Valve replaced. My response was to stop seeing doctors for over a year. But, the pain used to get so bad (heavy Sodium diet) I had to go back. So, I found a second Cardiologist. My second Cardiologist told me I would eventually need a valve replacement in 5 or 10 years. Eight years later, my third Cardiologist has told me (last Month) it needs to get done "Soon". I have been in denial...I have been angry and gone through the "It's not FAIR" self-pity BS. I now know I need to take care of this issue SOON. My Cardiologist said I was a candidate for the Ross Procedure. I have an appointment to meet with a surgeon, who does the Ross Procedure, on the last day of this year... yep, 12-31-2013, New Years Eve. So... it appears as if 2014 is going to be different. But you gotta do what you gotta do.
