I have always bruised fairly easily, and I am pleasantly surprised so far that I have stayed pretty non-blue (other than this incident), however, must admit I haven't been doing the physical work, house or yard, that I usually do. Vel, if it makes you feel any better (maybe not) there really isn\'t much you could have done to prevent the hematoma. I was on coumadin for years and all I had to do was \"think about\" a collision with anything (even scratching too hard) and I would have a hematoma. My hands were especially bad, all I had to do was touch the bottom of a kitchen cabinet and I would have a purple spot. The bad thing is...I still get them and I\'m no longer on coumadin, just 81 mg. aspirin. I just have \"old lady skin\". Bifocals don\'t help much either, lol. Try to take care!

Hi Vel, Glad to hear from you. Thanks for letting me know which hospital you went to. CLT is the first on my list. I was reading Jimmy and I think Jan with Dr Andrews. So that is what I am zeroing in on. Do they have rather inexpensive hotels there for my husband? My second choise is NE Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. It is a little closer. So that is what I am thinking of right now.
My new Dr is in Greenville. Ricki Shine recommended him to me. I will be seeing him this Monday for the results of my torture test of being nuked. Didnt like that but I am afraid it is only going to get worse from here. I actually enjoyed the echo had such a nice tech doing it. She explained everything I was looking at and we had a real nice talk about faith and Gods plan. Well they actually were all very nice. He is a little closer to me and I can go shopping afterwards. lol. Will let everyone know on Monday what happens, if I am good for another 5 months or not. I have this funny feeling he will say see ya in 5 months and that is Christmas time and I am not going to get good news then and ruin Christmas just like my last birthday. Or maybe I should consider it as a gift. Ok talk to ya later. Take care and let us hear from you more.

Hotel costs are going to depend upon location, even more than season. Let me know if you pick Charlotte and I will try to help. I am also somewhat familiar with the Gainesville hospital from back in the 90s.
If I were to advise anyone on the timing thing, I would say to pick a time when the weather outside would be nice most of the first month or so you are back home. Not ungodly hot and not dead of winter. But that only works for those whose schedules are very flexible, and most of ours aren't. You make a good point re Christmastime, though. Vel

Sounds like you are doing well with the pain medicine too. What a bummer about the a-fib, it does take time though, and we\'ll pray that you will heal with a regular sinus rhythm! You should probably get the shortness of breath checked out, just to make sure you don\'t have fluid in your lungs! I would have good days and then I would have really tiring days, but never really too short of breath. Hang in there!
