Hi Steven. I had my valve replaced 12 years ago at the age of 55. I chose the Medtronic Freestyle Pig valve. I also had an aortic aneurysm that was repaired with a sleeve. I have lived an active lifestyle with no restrictions ever since. Just had a doctors appointment and was told that the valve looks as good as when I had it replaced. I wouldn’t have done it any other way now that I can look back. Now with the new transcatheter procedure ( TAVR ) when it does need to finally be replaced, I won’t need open heart surgery again.
