I have TOF and 10 months ago had a pulmonary valve replacement via open heart, my 3rd surgery, 1st as an adult. Phillipians 4:13 was my rock & the FACT that with god, NOTHING is impossible! Check out my journal if u want and email me with any questions! I have no experience with a pacemaker, although I do have rhythm disturbances, but it is ok. There are a few people on here who have had them and it wasn't a bad experience.
hi stephanie-you just left a message in my guestbook asking me about my life after heart surgery the first time-i hope i answered all your questions. i looked at your pictures -you have beautiful children and a nice looking hubby. anything else i can help u with let me know-
Hi Stephanie, welcome to HVJ. You have taken a huge first step, by starting your journal. It seems like yesterday, I was just an observer thinking "nice place to visit, but not for me." Then 2 other HVJers convinced me to take the plunge. Well, WOW!!!! I am almost 3 weeks post op and simply could not have made it without this site. I took a huge leap and decided to 'put it all out there.' What I got in return is nothing short of a miracle. The people here have become my family. They have supported me in ways that I cannot describe. So, great move on your part to start your journal. I encourage you to post often and enjoy what comes back to you.
I also invite you to check out my HVJ, many have commented they have found it helpful.
Not sure where you are in your process, but I wish you all the best.
Hi Stephanie, welcome to HVJ site. You are in great company, lol. You didn't say, are you just "following your condition" or do you need surgery? You said that you are seeing a specialist at Emory. Check out Cindy Kenward's journal, she had her surgery at Emory. She is incredible!
Glad you found the time to get started. As you have probably already seen, this is a great place for support! Welcome to the family!
