Hi Toni,
Gosh your experience is heart wrenching to hear, you both so young but keep remembering there are Angels looking out for you and Michael, God bless and may he comfort u in this difficult time, keep strong and positive. I had a mitral valve replacement 6 years ago and now my husband needs to have aortic valve replacement in 7 days time, he also has a bicuspid aortic valve, he is a bit in denial, he only found this out a few years ago, he is now 51, he has no symptoms so he cannot or does not want to believe this is all happening. Strange both of us have to go though this but I believe our Heavenly Father has a path for us and i had to show him the way first to be or to try be strong and positive. Take every day as it comes with faith and love. God bless from Angela
Wow! Our story continues to be an amazing journey as it was God's plan. We are blessed to have each other and our wonderfully supportive family by our sides! We are also looking forward to our wedding day in November :o)
Your husband will be in our prayers as he faces this trial in his life. I am so thankful that your husband has you to take care of him and guide him through this familiar experience you've had yourself. We will pray for strength, understanding and peace for your husband and for you. God loves you and God loves us. He does have a plan, and through this we have learned - to just to have faith. What a lesson and what a journey we've been on. Thank you for your kind words and for your post.

Hi Toni,
You and Mike are ahead of me on this journey. First of all I wish you both the best of luck on the rest of your journey. Thank you for posting I find it helpful and calming for my nerves to read the post from the younger aortic valve patients. I live in Chandler, AZ, I am 38, and schedule to have my bicuspid aortic valve and most likely my aorta replaced at Banner Desert in Mesa, AZ on August 8th. What hospital did Mike have the surgery done at?
Best of Luck
Dave
Our journey sure wasn't a planned one either...we never knew that Mike had the bicuspid valve, so when the infection hit, it hit hard. Thank you for the kind words and I am so happy that it is calming for you to read our story as you prep for your own journey.
You will be in our continued prayers as you gear up for your surgery!! Mike's surgery was at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield Illinois. If you have any questions -- please feel free to message us again.

Hi Toni and Michael. Wow what a story. You both have been thru so much. I am so glad Michael is starting to do better now. Just dont over do, as they say one day at a time. And each one will get better. I can say God was with you and he gave you strength to overcome for the rest of your lives. I surely will be keeping you both in my prayers and for a long and happy future together. Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. I look for more good things coming from you and Michael.
For the long haul

Hi Toni,
I will say prayers for your Michael. This is not an easy journey for the patient or their loved ones. Hang in there. You have come to the right place for support. Much of what I read on this site helped me understand what to expect and it was a great comfort to me. My son, also very young, just had HV surgery on the 23rd of May. He is doing well but I know this site helped him deal with his questions and angst . Know that many are keeping you, Michael, and his family in their prayers even if they don\'t post. I assure you, they are.
God Bless,
L

Peace, Joy and Love,
Toni
Do you think your son might want to talk to my Mike? I'm not sure if there is a way to send private messages/emails - but if he is looking for someone else who is going through the same thing he is..I know Mike would like to have someone to relate to.
Thanks,
Toni
