Hi Laura and welcome to HVJ. I know you will find a lot of support here.
I am glad you have your surgery scheduled. I had pneumonia and congestive heart failiure before I went to the ER and found out I needed surgery. I was in such a state that I was unable to work for the 2.5 wks prior to surgery. Stairs and any minimal exertion killed me. Fortunately now today, at 5 wks post-op my mitral valve was successfully repaired and I am enrolled in cardiac rehab classes planning to return to work in a couple of weeks. Take care of yourself so this does not worsen prior to your surgery.
Hi Laura and welcome to HVJ. Loved your story as I could relate to it a little. My Dad had Wolfe White Parkinson syndrome then had an adonaomal anuersym and passed away from conjestive heart failure. His heart was just worn out after 12 years. Then my daughter at age 29 had a valve replacement. So being there for both of them, I think it is Gods way of just getting me prepared for what I am facing now. Strange how things work out. Hope your Mom is doing good and I know you will to cause you have been there. Keep us all posted as we are all here for each other. Good luck to you and your Mom
For the long haul
