Sounds like everything is going well. That is great. Once she gets in ICU, the hardest part is over. From then on, it\'s gets better quickly. Breathing is very important to prevent pneumonia. I did my spirometer as often as I could, as did not want to get lung problems while trying to recover from surgery. It definitely hurts but is a must. It also gets much easier quickly.

Kirsten...are you undergoing a Bentall procedure? I had it done 6 weeks ago. It\'s hard not to stress and worry but just know you can do this and will be fine. Your youth is working in your favor, so you should bounce back very quickly.
I, too, had an aortic aneurysm. They fixed it and replaced my aortic valve also. Stay positive and know you will do just fine.

Kirsten Pederson-Krupa It's great to hear from others who can relate. Thank you so much for the message. My procedure has never been given a name. I have been told that the valve will be replaced and a sleeve will be placed over the valve to prevent future aneurysm from occurring.
