I can not recommend a surgeon but can say that I just had the mini where they notch the sternum rather than split it. My recovery he's been very good and some quicker than a full sternotomy. Good luck in finding someone and keep us posted.

I don't know about the minimally invasive. I know it was not for me at this time. I do know I was told that it would be easier the second time around. Hoping it's longer than 10 years though.

I'm not positive, but I don't believe "redoes" can be done minimally invasively. I recall reading that there is too much scar tissue. You'll have to see what the surgeon says. I think I also read that it is a little easier the second time around. Good luck!

That is my biggest fear. I went in for the tavir program but I don't qualify. Not sickly and old. When choosing a bovine valve the dr. said it will probably have to be replaced but I was under the assumption 20 years or so. good luck
