Hi Jessica, I live in the Woodlands and my husband, 45, was just diagnosed with severe stenosis and will be seen on 5/4 by Dr. Parikh at the Methodist. You mentioned that you had and found a doctor to perform the Ross method here in Houston? I am getting ahead of myself because we don’t even know if that could be an option for him but I wanted to see what’s out there and saw your post. He was born with a congenital defect but he was monitored yearly but he hadn’t had an echo in 20 years and it went from mild to severe. He has very mild symptoms thankfully but now with this diagnosis we are a bit worried. May I ask which doctor diagnosed you and what was recommended?

Jessica Miller Hi Sylvia, actually no, have not found a Dr here in Houston that does the Ross Procedure on adults. I have moderate symptoms now, so not ready for surgery, But, because my aortic regurgitation progressed quickly (also from congenital defect), I was just looking at available options out there. I’m very active outdoors and really have concerns about anti-coagulants. There are several surgeons specializing in the Ross Procedure at Baylor Scott and White health, which is in Plano, north of Dallas. I definitely plan to reach out to them when I get to that point. My cardiologist recommended the OnX valve, which I think is the newest mechanical out there that requires less anti-coagulants, (dr Angela ferguson with Kelsey). But she also said that the surgeon, when it gets to that point would recommend/present options etc. good luck! Feel free to reach out any time!
