Lol I remember years ago when we first met in like what 5th grade? And you struggled with your scars from heart surgery (stupid boys teasing you) if I remember right? I wanted to stock up for you and protect my friend then and nothing has changed my friend. Lol except for now i'm much older!
If I were a millionaire I would just pay for your surgery. :( but I am not. I am part of the 99% lol
Anyways, call me Tuesday, I look forward to hearing from you.
P.s. Sorry for all the misspelled words lol error correct on my phone.
So I sent your mom a fb message about ideas I have to help raise money. Tell her to check her messages and not to erase it because she doesn't know a Jose lol.
Plus I think once we open an account for you we need to announce it to all your fb friends, church friends, old work friends, neighbors... Any ideas?.I have to have your help here cuz i'm i'm Utah you are in Nevada.
You don't help me then I will post out all over your fb like every 2 minutes lol
Yeah, that is awesome news and i'm way excited to hear that. Now let's get you some money to pay for it!
Oh my long list friend. I feel so sad for you. I understand the stupid insurance game. :( Buy like I told you. This is your LIFE we are talking about! I am more than willing to put together some kind of fundraiser for you so you can have your surgery. Maybe we could open an account under your name and let everyone that would like to donate know where they can donate.
I know I don't have allot but I am willing to donate and i'm sure you have a ton of people in your life that could do the same.
I know it's sometimes hard to ask for peoples help, but we are here Bethany and we would like to, so let us.
hi bethany-i went into alot of explanation of what i went through because i thought it may help as sometimes ablations dont work and if you needed to be put on the anti dysrhym. medication -i would ask to be placed on the tikosyn as long as you can take it-because it does not have the side effects that amioradone and alot of the others have. yes praying does help alot. it is what it is- i go see my surgeon march 5 and if he agrees with my cardiologist that i need surgery it should be within the next 2 wks.well yu take care and anything i can help u with let me know-and your kids are beautiful
bethany-i am 54 yrs old-had open heart surgery back in 1961 for repair of asd-i had a hole in my heart and pulmonary stenosis-they opened my pulmonary valve more. i was perfect until i turned 52-then out of nowhere i got rushed into hosp with a flutter-hr was 266.meds didnt get me out of it-i ended up having a cardioversion where they shocked my heart back to its regular beat(normal sinus ).i then started on lopressor to keep my rate down which it did but didnt stop the aflutter which came very frequently. my heart rate then averaged 130-150 when i was in flutter. i went for an ablation which the doc said i had so much scar tissue that was there from my surgery that it was impossible to get it all-he worked on me for 6 hrs. that still didnt get rid of my fast heart rate-so he decided to start me on a new drug called tikosyn and i take it along with the lopressor.tikosyn is a anti dysrhythmic.only drawback is this drug is a powerful drug and u have to be hospitalized for 3 days when u start it and you take the drug 2times a day. you have to have an ekg one hour after each dose for that 3days-6 doses cuz a major complication is it can prolong your qtc interval on ekg and that could be deadly if it prolongs it too long-how ever dont be scared cuz thats why they do ekgs and can tell if it is starting to prolong it long before u would even have a clue, long before it becomes anywhere near a problem for u and then they would just stop the med. but ive been on it for 2 yrs and unless i get anxious i maybe get the flutter once a week if that.i like u can tell exactly when i go into that and when i get out of it. i now need more surgery i need pulmonic valve replacement and tricuspid valve repair and since ive known that i have been going into that flutter daily because of my anxiety and started on something for my anxiety and since then my flutter is back to being an occasional visitor again. i wish u luck sweetheart-im calling u that cuz i could be your mom-my oldest is 35. take care and message me anytime
Hi Bethany, I can relate to your insurance situation. I retired in May 2010 and had to carry insurance through COBRA for 18 months. It was outrageously high, but I had no choice with my heart situation. Then in December 2011 I became eligible for Tricare, the government insurance for military retirees and their beneficiaries. My husband was retired from the National Guard when he passed away, so as of December, I am covered under tricare. At least take comfort that you will be covered once the pre-existing condition waiting period is over. Some companies would exclude any heart related issues and some won't cover you at all. I know, right now that isn't a lot of comfort, but we have to be positive. Mind over body! Hang in there, we are here to support you!
Welcome. I do not experience tachycardia from walking the stairs which I do 5-10 xs a day. My surgery was about 2 wks ago so I still tire out pretty easy after going up the stairs and have to rest some of the time. I wish there was some way your insurance would be available sooner so you could have your procedure.
wishing you lots of luck
I had my Aortic Valve replaced with a mechanical valve on August 9, 2011. I am also in Las Vegas, I had my surgery at Valley Hospital.
Has surgery been recommended for you?
I see you are going to get a second opinion.....well I can tell you my surgeons were brilliant. I had complications during surgery and spent 9 days in ICU. My surgeon is Dr James Daugharthy of Cardiovascular Associates at 3059 Maryland Parkway, he has over 35 years experience.
My cardiologist is a wondeful and kind man named Dr Chris Caraang with Southwest Medical Associates on 888 South Rancho. He is fabulous.
Anyway welcome to the HVJournal, the support I recieved from people prior to surgery and in recovery and today is so helpful.
You are in my prayers and I am here to help.
LAS VEGAS NV
Love you so much, my dearest daughter. You know that you can count on me 24/7, I will always be there for you. I am glad to see that you have a journal, and I am hoping that it will give you not only support and love but also valuable information. Love Mom <3
Bethany, sorry to hear you are having problems. I don't know if this tachycardia will damage your heart, but I can't imagine that it is good. A bpm of 200 in terribly high. I assume you have told your cardiologist that you are having this problem?
Welcome to the site, I'm sorry I can't be much help, but I really hope you get some answers.
