Hello: I have been on blood thinner since 2010 and here are some of my observations. First off I do not limit my diet. Instead I manage my diet. I love broccoli and I eat it frequently. However now I have to be consistent or it does affect my INR. Secondly I found that it was very difficult to maintain my INR until I made one change. I take Warfarin twice a day instead of once a day. This seemed to help my body metabolize the pills better. I am taking 10 mg/day to maintain an INR of 3.0 to 3.5. You might find you do not need to do this but it sure worked for me. Thirdly I enjoy a glass of wine occasionally. Again moderation is the key. It is important to live a full life as much as I can. Lastly I found out that extreme stress can raise my INR significantly. At one time I had a 5.2 reading. In summary I am finding that being on blood thinner has forced me to be more aware of how I treat my body. I get instant feedback from my body when I am not using moderation in any aspect of my life. I feel it is a gift.
