Hello JoAnn I just wanted to wish you luck on your upcoming procedure. I had a 21mm ON-X Valve put in the Aortic Position 8 weeks ago tomorrow and I am 48 yrs old. I think it is a great option and don't regret my decision one bit. The procedure is really scary to face but is really not as painful as you might think believe it or not. I was quite shocked at this fact. 🙏🏻 Prayers for you my friend and your son! You will be fine just go into it chin up and stay positive. God Bless You My Friend

Hi, JoAnn....I read your story...that was written the end of March, I guess...you have told your son about the surgery by now...he needs to know in terms he understands about what you are having fixed and how you will need his help during each phase...if you don't prepare him, he will make up his own far more scary explanation of why you are in the hospital and why you are not yourself during the recovery....even though you are about my son's age (he was diagnosed with AS, Bicuspid at age 4) and have known about this valve issue your whole life...I know it is difficult to imagine stopping your life to have this surgery and recovery...I am due in tomorrow at 5:30 am for surgery (AS, AVR may shave septum)...I wish you the very best, JoAnn, in a quick, correct, uncomplicated surgery and recovery...I believe you will live and since you were symptomatic, you will feel stronger once the fixed heart is healed...that way you have a good chance of being here for your son...and maybe his children one day😙Sending love, prayers, peace, healing and mental clarity to you on the 27th and onward from there💚Terrie
