Dr. Shah

"Dr. Shah is an outstanding surgeon and his surgical team is first-rate. My HMO surgeon gave me a not-so-great chance of successful repair. I sought out a second opinion with Dr. Shah at the Jeffrey Carlton Heart & Vascular Center at Hoag Hospital.

Dr. Shah’s expertise, and willingness to fully discuss my condition and the possible “fixes” as well as his kindness, caring, professionalism and that of his entire staff, convinced me that Dr. Shah was the surgeon for me. I changed insurance and had surgery with Dr. Shah shortly thereafter. I had a great outcome and recovery is going well.

I am so grateful for the skills of Dr. Shah and his staff. In addition the entire staff at the Jeffrey Carlton Center and Hoag Hospital are fantastic. I was treated like family by everyone I encountered during my appointments and hospital stay. I could not have asked for better, more caring, professional treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Asad Shah!"

"It’s now been 6 months since my surgery, and my recovery is going great! The very challenging mitral valve repair by Dr. Shah was successful! The surgery notes detail various repair attempts made by the surgical team, which were not satisfactory.

Thankfully, they didn’t give up, and were able to give me a solid repair. My latest echo shows only slight regurgitation - well within normal limits. I am so very grateful to Dr. Shah and his staff for the wonderful care I’ve received throughout my experience.

At my recent 6 month check-up, Dr. Shah’s head nurse, Barbara, spent nearly 30 minutes with me, reviewing my latest echo, reviewing my recovery, and answering all my questions.

All of the staff at the Jeffrey Carlton Heart & Vascular Institute have been fantastic. I truly do feel as though I am family there. I would not hesitate at all, to select Dr. Shah as my surgeon. He is truly the best. "
