Praying for you Judy. All will go well, but I know it is so hard and the fear does attack. Let people hold you up, and know that they care. God bless you, Stephanie

Judy,
I am a firm beliver in the power of prayer and positive thinking. There is a whole host of us that will keep the prayers going. I know you are a positive thinker and those positive thoughts will carry you through your surgery and recuperation. My husband had this same surgery. Before his surgery, a seasoned, no nonsense nurse firmly advised him that if he would do exactly what he was told to do (example:"If they tell you to take a deep breath,do it !"), then he would be up and about in no time. She was so positive and SO correct. It's amazing how fast the body begins to heal. Much Love and pawsativity from Cinnamon,Granny S.,Grace and Judy Rippe

Hi Judy, I am a fellow heart surgery candidate from Orange County. My surgery is schedule for 34 hours from now! I have felt the same way about having my sternum cut open, and it haunts me at night the most, too. How do I get past it? I do a mental countdown of everything for which I am grateful. Grateful that they have developed this surgery so that I don't die young. Grateful for a good hospital, for good insurance, for a good surgeon. I'm grateful for drugs which will make it so that I don't remember anything about my surgery. Grateful for good friends and family who are being so supportive. I'm grateful for this online journal which connects me with others who are sharing my experience. My list goes on and on and on. It helps keep me focused on all the good things that are mine. I hope it works for you, too! Patty C

Judy Fridono Thanks for sharing your story! Who is doing your surgery? I'm still deciding between two surgeons... and will meet one tomorrow. I think this is probably the worst part of it... the unknown and worry. I'm eager to "get to the other side"! Will be thinking positive thoughts for you during your surgery.

Judy:
I will be thinking of you and sending good vibes your way. Fear of the unknown is at the top of my scary list! Please know that a lot of folks will be praying for you while in surgery and hoping for a speedy recovery. You have more good works to do here for us, kiddo! Hugs~

Hi Judy
Thinking about you and your upcoming surgery. I would be mortified, but may face it myself one day. My father had one. The thing that I keep going back to is it is so wonderful to know this can be done. Not so many years ago, this surgery wouldn't have been available. Try to remember there are many prayers going out for you. Wishing you all the best and will keep you in my prayers. Sherry Phillips

Hi Judy,
I'm honestly not sure what to write, but I wanted you to know that there are thousands of people out here whom you have never met who are rooting for you and praying for you. I am but one. I found out about you through Ricochet's Facebook page and the work you both do is amazing.

Judy,
You are an awesome lady. I applaud your efforts with Ricochet. She is truly a talented canine. I am rather partial to Golden Retrievers as I have one that will be 15 in March and he, too, is one great dog! You will be in my prayers, I know your procedure will go well and your recovery swift. You are a positive person. Look at your accomplishments with Ricochet, you were determined to make something of her and you did. Keep your focus on your goal. I look forward to following you on your journal.

Hi Judy.
I've been following Ricki for awhile and seeing the angst that you've been going through with the surgery.
I have to tell you that (1) you have so many friends that care about you and (2) while I want to point out the MANY, MANY people who have successfully had this surgery (including both of my parents) and that it isn't quite the 'big deal' that it used to be that (3) I know that I would be scared to death if it were me... it's just different that way.
You are a strong person with a mission in life and many people that care about you... these traits will get you through this stronger than ever! Really!
Good luck and God Speed.
Michele Rick
P.S. Ric and Rina and all of their friends (and there are many as you know) will be for you... you are the force that allows both of them to do so much good!

Hi, Judy!
I know all about that anxiety. Nights are bad because you need to get your rest, but your thoughts keep swirling around in your head. Waiting is just so hard.
Good luck meeting with the doctor tomorrow. Know that you are doing everything right to make the best choices for yourself.

Judy,
I can totally understand your anxiety. I've had 3 other types of surgeries, but not heart surgery. The fear of the unknown is always filled with anxiety. I am positive that you will find the right surgeon, and I'm glad to hear your sister-in-law will update us on your surgery and recovery! Thank you for sharing your journey with us. All of Ricochet's fans (and Rina's, and yours) are pulling for you!

Dear Judy,
I have been following you, Ricochet and Rina on FB and I am amazed at all you do for charities. Just so you know, my father had a quadruple bypass in 1977, when the surgery was brand new. (And he did great!) They have come a LONG way with the surgery now and I am hoping you won't be anxious about it. I think the worst part is having the sternum opened, but you are young and hopefully will heal quickly. I am praying for you and praying that you won't feel anxious about it! Have faith, these physicians know what they are doing and perform this surgery everyday. Keep positive thoughts and you will heal even quicker. Godspeed to you Judy. I will be following you and your recovery.

Hi Judy - I know what you mean but I believe with all the care you've taken to select a surgeon you trust will pay off and you will be on the other side and healing well and feeling great in no time!

Judy,
I am 3 weeks out from having my aortic valve replaced along with an anurysum repair. I too feared the surgery and the steronomy. I just wanted to tell you that I never had any pain from the surgery. I thought it would be difficult to move, dress, shower, etc. and I have not experienced this at all. In fact, by 2 weeks, my incision was completly healed!!! RELAX!!!!

Judy Fridono Thanks so much for your reassurance. I'm looking forward to being on the other side of this mountain of fear & worry. Amazing that your incision was healed in two weeks. How long before your bone healed?

P.S. I just watched your Youtube video and it was great! I too have goldens and you seem to have gotten a wonderful girl in Ricochet! With goldens, there isn't much they like better than birds unless it's WATER!
We come to San Diego a couple of times a year with our dogs and RV - I'd love to get together some time and see the surfing dog in person.
The footage of your early training was fascinating. I have used the early stimulation program with several litters but never to this extent. Would like to learn more!
Thanks for sharing,
Anne Shannon

Dear Judy,
I hope your cath will go well. Really, no matter what it shows, I think you will find, as you look through the many journals, that there is no need for terror! Everyone seems to make it past the operation and through recovery in fine shape. You will feel a lot better on the "other side" as we are fond of saying.
Keep us posted!
