Hi Lynne, thank you for keeping us up to date on Joyce. She will be fine, I am sure. She is so fortunate to have her family there with her. Now your job is the most difficult...waiting. Mom is most likely in la-la land now and will wake up later with a finely tuned up heart! Then she will have climbed her mountain, and I can tell you as one who is still waiting on surgery in a few weeks, no matter how brave we appear on the outside, there is an amount of fear inside.
I will keep you all in my prayers today, please keep us updated on Joyce.
Missing all of you tonight and longing to be there. Thankful for the peace of God and the faith of many who have lifted you up in prayer. Blessed are we. Love you - Matt, Deb, Jenna, Rachel and Jackson
God bless you Joyce, you will be in my prayers tomorrow and as you recover. Hope you have somone lined up to keep us updated on your progress. Go climb that mountain and I look forward to hearing from you when you feel up to it.
Mrs. Beck, You are in such good hands. I was amazed when my Mom had surgery yesterday at the "space-age" technology and precision. Amazing! And, having Debbie there as your personal nurse will make everything all the better. You are also in God's hands, the supreme caregiver. Can't wait to hear good news! Betty Blevins
Dear Joyce and Wayne: We will be thinking about you and praying for you. I know that God will be there and bring you through safely. Look forward to seeing you when this is all over. Love you lots, Betty & Roy
Joyce, I am so glad you and Wayne got there safe and everything is going well. You will be in Gerald and my thoughts and prayers throughout the whole process. We love you and hope this will soon be over and you will be back home. Take care and God bless.
Joyce, the weather has been terrible here in SC also. It isn't raining now,but it sure feels cold and damp. Good luck with the doctor tomorrow, let us know how it goes.
Still waiting...Linda Dixon
My dear mother-in-law, I am so looking forward to seeing you this week. You are constantly on my mind and in my heart. I repeatedly say a prayer for you. God will take care of you. You are truly a blessing to all of us. I love you. Debbie (Mark's Debbie)
We anxiously await your return home as the healthier Joyce Beck. God is in control and He loves you and will care for you. I'm know He has great plans for you in the future with your family and friends.
We love you and you remain in our prayers.
Pattie and Gene
My sweet Joyce,
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. I will be waiting expectantly to hear of your success. Remember our LORD's words..."Peace I leave with you, and My peace I give unto you...let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid." John 14:27
I felt the same you do: davinci surgery is only right way to go for mitral valve repair for sure! I have never even considered other type of surgery...I am not buying into "surgeon needs to see open heart, easy access etc.".
The old sternot. way is just easier way for surgeon who does not know how to do robotic repair. Visibility is actually better with robotic approach, recovery time minimal - I had no restriction when I left hospital at all!, bleeding minimal...My chest tubes were out the morning after surgery and breathing tube was after few hours - I do not remember that one at all:) My surgery was almost 9h long and if it was not robotic, regular surgeon would not be able to repair my valve at all!!!
You will do great and you will be so happy with the procedure!
Joyce. Wow fast work. I go in feb 9. So u can tell me all about it. Sounds as tho u r in excellent hands. You'll enjoi the journal however a reminder it can become addictive. Be well & yes keep us posted.
Dear Aunt Joyce,
You are so very special to me. I am extremely excitied that you were able to research and find a procedure you feel comfortable with. I wish you much love and success and covet my prayers through it all.
I am 6 weeks post op and back to almost normal activities. You will be surprised at how well you will do. Just getting the surgery over with is enough of a relief.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
I wanted to drop you a line and wish you good luck with your upcoming surgery. I had davinci mitral valve repair 4 weeks ago. I wanted to tell you that you really do not need to worry about pain at all! I had pain only when I cough or sneeze (I did have lot of cough because of my lungs problems I developed). I was on regular tylanol in hopsital on day 3 and off morphine day after surgery. I seriously did not feel any pain while in hospital, only major case of being tired and not being able to do anything.
I have been off any pain pills for almost 2 weeks now and can do anything I want, but of course with the snail pace:)
You will do great! Your choice to look for this kind of procedure was right one. But keep in mind, heart still goes thru same thing and needs long recovery!
