VIDEO: AORTIC VALVE REPLACEMENT USING MEDTRONIC MOSAIC ULTRA BIOPROSTHESIS (A BIOLOGICAL VALVE)

Video Spotlight: Aortic Valve Replacement Video By David OTT, MD (Texas)

David A. Ott, MD of the Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas performed an aortic valve replacement using the Medtronic Mosaic Ultra Bioprosthesis. Dr. Denton A. Cooley and Dr. Ross M. Reul, also of the Texas Heart Institute, moderated the live presentation (now on video), review valve selection criteria and surgical considerations and address real-time web audience questions during the hour-long program.

About the Video And Mosaic Ultra Bioprosthesis: Each year, over 100,000 Americans undergo valve replacement surgery. Third generation tissue valves provide excellent hemodynamics and improved durability. These new valves also allow patients to maintain the quality of life they have come to expect and to enjoy active lifestyles without the risks of anticoagulation therapy.
