Hello! My name is Dr. Fayyaz Hashmi and I am a cardiac surgeon having graduated from King Edward Medical College in 1974. To date, I have performed approximately 10,000 cardiac surgeries, of which 3,000 involved heart valve procedures. I regularly perform surgery at hospitals including Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center and Mercy St. Anne . Read more...
I believe my greatest strength is experience over a wide range of procedures, both conventional and minimally invasive, postoperative care, compassion.
"Dr. Hashmi was going to perform a cow valve replacement of my mitral valve (as I did not want to have a mechanical valve that required Coumadin therapy for the balance of my life). I was 56 when Dr. Hashmi performed the surgery -- which also included a MAZE procedure. Interestingly, Doctor Hashmi was able to repair and "save" all of my original parts, so that no replacement was needed. Besides saving my life, Dr. Hashmi is a wonderful and caring doctor, in and out of the operating room. If need be, I'd have another open heart surgery, with him being the doctor. His caring and compassion are something I have never experienced compared to any other surgeon. I will ALWAYS be gratefully indebted to the good doctor and his surgical abilities. I would recommend him whole-heartedly (pun intended). Thank you Dr. Hashmi!!!"
