Scar Creams Made By HD Scar Solution and Merderma Helpful In Incision Scar Healing Following Heart Valve Surgery

Depending on your heart surgery type, you will be left with be some form of open heart surgery scar. If you have a mini-sternotomy, the scar size may only be three inches. However, if your entire sternum is broke (a median sternotomy), your incision scar may be up to nine inches long.

After my open heart surgery, I began using Mederma to treat the incision scar on my chest. Mederma is a greaseless, topical gel that’s formulated to improve the appearance of scars.

I applied the scar treatment to my chest scar one or two times a day for three months. Mederma is easy to use. You simply apply it over the sternum incision scar to advance scar healing. Patients can apply Mederma to their scar two to three weeks after surgery. It is important to apply Mederma only after the incision scar is no longer open and beginning to heal.

So you know, I had my surgeon, Vaughn Starnes from USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, okay the use of Mederma prior to using the treatment on my open heart surgery scar.

My results using Mederma have been pretty good. However, Mederma is not your only alternative for scar healing and scar treatment. Many patients use HD Scar Solution, Vitamin E oil and other creams to treat open heart surgery scars.

HD Scar Solution RECEIVES PATIENT & DOCTOR PRAISE

Lately, many patients I know are using a special scar treatment known as HD Scar Solution. This specially formulated, 100% natural emollient has an immediate dramatic effect on dermal scarring - both old and new scars. After doing some research on HD Scar Solution, I learned that this scar treatment has received many testimonials from heart surgery patients.

HD Scar Solution has also received several doctor recommendations. In discussing the HD Scar Solution, Dr. Edward Berger noted, "Scars from surgery, which used to require months... or even years to lose their red, rough appearance, fade away in an amazingly short time, leaving virtually no scarring at all."

To illustrate the effect of HD Scar Solution on heart surgery patients, below you can see an actual "before-and-after" comparison of an open heart surgery scar. The first picture was taken before the patient used HD Scar Solution:

If you have any interest in trying HD Scar Solution, I just learned there is a special promotion going on right now. The company is offering a free, two-week trial of HD Scar Solution. Please note, however, there is a $1.95 shipping-and-handling fee with this promotion.
