Author's Recommendation: Scar Cream Made By Merderma Helpful In Incision Scar Healing Following Open Heart Surgery
Depending on the type of open heart surgery you have, you will be left with be some form of open heart surgery scar. If you have a minimally invasive procedure, the scar size may only be three inches. If you have a mitral valve repair and your sternum is broken, your incision scar may be eight inches long.
After my aortic valve replacment, I began using Mederma to treat the incision scar on my chest. Mederma is a greaseless, topical gel that’s formulated to improve the appearance of scars.

I applied Mederma to my chest scar one or two times a day for three months.
Mederma is easy to use. You simply apply it over the sternum incision scar to advance scar healing.
Patients can apply Mederma to their scar two to three weeks after surgery. It is important to apply Mederma only after the incision scar is no longer open and beginning to heal.
So you know, I had my surgeon, Vaughn Starnes from USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, okay the use of Mederma prior to use on my open heart surgery scar. |

Does Mederma Work?
Mederma results have been pretty amazing. As you can see, my scar healing has been incredible.
However, Mederma is not your only alternative for scar healing and scar treatment. Many patients use Vitamin E oil to treat open heart surgery scars.
Also, Mederma is safe for children who might have scars resulting from pediatric cardiac surgery.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a Mederma coupon on the web.
