"I met with Dr. Dewan several days before surgery with a list of questions. He said he preferred to describe the surgery and the recovery and then address my questions if any remained after his description. No questions remained.
The surgery and recovery occurred exactly as he described. After the surgery he came to my ICU room. He examined me and asked questions. He was very direct yet concerned about how I felt. The nursing staff provided only over the counter pain relief. When the doctor learned of my pain level, he immediately prescribed non-narcotic pain relief. He and other members of his staff checked in on me regularly while I was in the hospital.
At the conclusion of my final release examination by the surgeon, I told him that this surgery was far less difficult for me than the rotator cuff surgery. He told me the surgery was easy of me because I was in good physical condition. He then told me he didn't want to see me again and that I should loose his name.
Dr. Dewan was direct but never abusive. I consider his stills and personality to be second to none."
